About the owners
Blue Wall Cider & Wine is the creation of Justin and Casey Wisch, who drew on their shared passion for farming, community, and food to produce small-batch cider and wine. The Wisches are also the owners of Long Stone Farm, where their experience raising livestock shaped the sustainable, land-first mindset that defines Blue Wall. For them, winemaking and cidermaking are extensions of their broader philosophy—working with nature, supporting local producers, and bringing people together around good food and drink.
History of the venue
Blue Wall Cider & Wine is based at Long Stone Farm, a historic property in Loudoun County featuring an orchard planted at the heart of the working farm. The name “Blue Wall” honors the farm’s westerly view of Short Hill Mountain and a past name used for the property. While the cider and wine are made on-site, the farm itself is not open to the public. Guests can instead sample or purchase Blue Wall’s small-batch ciders and wines at their farm-store location at the Route 9 Market in Paeonian Springs, the Eat Loco Ashbrook Farmers Market on Saturdays, or through the Blue Wall Cider & Wine CSA subscription.
Winemaking philosophy
Blue Wall’s orchard lies at the center of the farm, where heirloom apple varieties are cultivated using “ecoganic” methods that integrate livestock and orchard management for a regenerative, closed-loop system. Their ciders are crafted in small batches with organic practices to achieve clean, traditional fermentations. The wines, meanwhile, are created in partnership with neighboring Loudoun County farmers and viticulturists—collaborations that highlight both the strength of the local community and a shared commitment to sustainable agriculture.
