About the owners
Firefly Cellars is the vision of the Pierleonardi family, led by daughter Andrea Zaidi, whose lifelong passion for creating meaningful experiences shines through every aspect of the winery. For decades, the family successfully ran a local business that taught them the value of hard work, teamwork, and genuine hospitality. When Andrea’s parents began planning their retirement, the family turned their energy toward building a new legacy—one rooted in warmth, creativity, and connection. Together, they made their dream of owning a small, family-run winery in Loudoun County a reality.
History of the venue
Every inch of Firefly Cellars reflects the personal touches and creative energy of the Pierleonardi family. The tasting room and wine cellar were designed by Andrea and her mother, while Andrea’s husband’s artwork adds a distinctive flair to the property. Even the family dog and Andrea’s three young daughters have become part of the winery’s character, helping with small tasks among the vines or greeting guests. After years of planning and preparation, the family devoted themselves fully to cultivating Firefly Cellars into a destination that captures their love of wine, art, and hospitality.
Winemaking philosophy
At its heart, Firefly Cellars is about connection—to people, to place, and to the moments that bring them together. The Pierleonardi family’s philosophy centers on crafting wines that complement memorable experiences and on welcoming every guest as part of their extended family. Visitors are encouraged to linger over tastings, take in the art and scenery, and leave feeling restored. At Firefly Cellars, the emphasis isn’t just on what’s in the glass—it’s on creating an atmosphere of joy, community, and belonging that keeps guests coming back again and again.
