About the owners
Corcoran Vineyards & Cider remains a small, family-run venture led by owner and winemaker Lori Corcoran, who has been hand-crafting wine since 2002 and cider since 2013. On weekends, Lori personally welcomes guests to the farm’s tasting barn, where she answers questions and shares the family’s passion for traditional Virginia beverages. Her approachable style and deep knowledge have made Corcoran a respected name among Loudoun’s long-established boutique producers.
History of the venue
Founded in the early 2000s, Corcoran began as one of Loudoun County’s pioneering small wineries, producing handcrafted dessert and Port-style wines. The business expanded to cider a decade later, paying homage to Virginia’s colonial-era cider tradition. The tasting experience takes place in a restored farm building on a peaceful rural property open to the public only on weekends, preserving its intimate, authentic character.
Winemaking philosophy
Corcoran focuses on small-batch, specialty production rooted in history and experimentation. The winery’s Port-style wines age seven to eight years in whiskey barrels, while its ciders reflect a creative twist on classic Virginia recipes—sometimes infused with peaches, cinnamon, or finished with champagne yeast. Inspired by Thomas Jefferson’s 18th-century apple plantings at Monticello, Corcoran continues a proudly Virginian craft: producing quality wines and ciders that blend heritage, patience, and imagination.
