About the owners
Mike and Luanne’s journey to winemaking began in the 1990s as enthusiastic visitors to Virginia wineries. Over time, casual interest grew into a serious dream, fueled by research, classes, and countless vineyard visits. After retiring from long federal and corporate careers in 2019 and 2020, they decided it was time to make that dream a reality. The result is Good Spirit Farm—a family-owned winery that reflects their love of Virginia wine and their commitment to building something new together.
History of the venue
Starting in early 2021, they transformed a 42-acre former cattle farm near Bluemont, first into a flower farm and then into an eight-acre vineyard. Today, Good Spirit Farm blends the beauty of its rural setting with carefully cultivated vines, offering guests a chance to enjoy wines rooted in both place and perseverance.
